San Diego & LA VIP Tour with Exclusive NFL Experiences

It's amazing how much you can do - how many memories you can make - in just three days, and we proved it once again at Hawaii Sports Fans.

Our folks flew in Thursday 10/3 to LAX, got their 24/7 shuttle to our go-to hotel - Fairfield Inn & Suites El Segundo - and were able to take advantage of the In N Out, Ralph's and other eateries just steps away from their rooms. It's important for us to be able to put our VIPs in a safe spot with a lot to do in walking distance-- Fairfield always delivers! But the next day is when the real fun began.

Friday, 10/4 - First Day in San Diego - Women's Volleyball

With some authentic tacos from El Tarasco, a cooler filled with cold drinks and a basket filled with the best snacks, we departed mid-day for San Diego. Our first stop was La Jolla Cove, seeing the beautiful rocky coastline, deep caves and sea lions playing on the shore. From there, it was straight to UCSD, for a parking lot tailgate that included the BEST Chicago style pizza you could find in San Diego from Regent's Pizzeria. We cracked open the bottle of Roku Gin - we love fulfilling our VIPs requests - and along with some beer, seltzers, and other drinks got ready to cheer on the Rainbow Wahine. Seated with the "braddahhood" announcing duo - John & Mark Veneri - we witnessed UH down two sets come back to defeat the Tritons in a reverse sweep. What a victory! So fun to catch up with some of the ladies after the match as well.

Saturday, 10/5 - Second Day in San Diego - UH Football

Waking up in our comfy LA home, we made another journey down to San Diego, this time to Snapdragon Stadium, where the tailgate was already bumping. With our Road Warrior Ohana coming in from Colorado, Texas, NorCal and further, we reunited for another amazing party in the parking lot. We even got a special performance by the UH Marching band! Items on the menu included spam musubi, kalua pig, bbq chicken, and more. But the winnahz might have been the lumpia, rolled by hand and deep fried right there in the Green Lot. So 'ono! Our Rainbow Wrap-Up podcast crew was also able to connect and fellowship with Sons of Montezuma, a brand for fans of SDSU that also includes a podcast. The 'Bows dropped a close game late in the fourth, but we had an awesome time in our sideline seats or for some of us, hanging at the Cutwater bar with our friends enjoying the birdseye view of the action. You can hear all about our experience on this episode of our show.

Sunday, 10/6 - SoFi Stadium Experiences at Rams vs Packers

Our last day started just a few miles from our hotel in SoFi Stadium's Pink Lot, the only parking area where tailgating is allowed at the stadium, which makes for one of the most dense, craziest, and memorable tailgate experiences. After some delicious sushi & drinks, we strolled past all the fun tents and made our way to Lake SoFi for some photos by the giant letters. Pregame events were just kicking off at the American Airlines Plaza so we made sure to get in early for that. Special for some of our VIPs was an exclusive autograph session with Rams Legends Eric Dickerson & Torry Holt, of the Super Bowl-winning "Greatest Show on Turf." We saw an amazing game between the Rams & Packers, with touchdowns being scored right in front of us, just rows from the field, seated in the club area. After the game, more VIPs were in for an experience as we went down onto the field! We were also able to get autographs from and photos with Green Bay players and make our own marks on the 50 yard-line. The fun kept going through the night, first starting at Jidaiya Ramen, old-school, authentic flavor in Torrance, before Honeymee for real milk, silky smooth soft serve you can't find anywhere else. We made our Trader Joe's run where folks loaded up on snacks and omiyage to take home before ending the night at one of Shohei Ohtani's murals in Hermosa Beach. Another awesome tour in the books!
